Preston Hollow Mold Damage in a Garage
The sink supply line was leaking, and there were several foundation cracks in the block foundation. The moisture built up, and the dormant mold spores began to eat the furring strips and the drywall cardboard backing. We removed the old plastic utility sink along with the drywall. The owner requested that we demolish and discard the entire wall, so we complied with his wishes. After spraying an antifungal chemical on the CBS wall and the strips it was allowed to dry. Our SERVPRO applied microbial remediation technician then painted a primer on the lumber to inhibit the regrowth of mold. We then buttoned up the treated wall with new sheetrock and the garage was ready for conversion to an extra bedroom.
